Data we collect
YTThumbnailDown does not collect personally identifiable information. When you submit a YouTube URL, the video ID is extracted entirely in your browser — no URL is transmitted to our servers during the lookup process. Thumbnail images may be fetched via a CORS proxy for technical compatibility, but no data is stored or logged.
Cookies
YTThumbnailDown does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. Your theme preference (light/dark) is stored in your browser's localStorage — this data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Third-party services
YTThumbnailDown fetches thumbnails from YouTube's CDN (img.youtube.com) on your behalf. YouTube's/Google's own privacy policy applies to their infrastructure. A CORS proxy (wsrv.nl) may be used for image fetching compatibility — no personal data is shared with this service. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Data security
All communication between your browser and any third-party service used by YTThumbnailDown is encrypted via HTTPS. No user data is cached or retained on our servers.
Children's privacy
YTThumbnailDown does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The service is intended for general audiences.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of YTThumbnailDown after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
